Disposable Camera Developing
Maybe the camera has been sitting in your bag since a party, a trip, or a night you do not want to forget. You have been wondering what is on it ever since. We can help with that.
Send us the whole disposable — Kodak, Fujifilm, waterproof, color, or black and white. Developing plus standard scans start at $17.99 per camera, and color cameras that reach us by 1PM Pacific on a business day are scanned the same day. We email you a download link and mail your negatives back upon request.
Real photos from real disposables
These came out of the same plastic cameras you're holding. A careful scan keeps the grain, the flash falloff, and the colors that are a little off, which is the look people buy disposables for.
We get it. We shoot film too!
There is a reason people still pick up disposable cameras. You get the grain, the color, and the surprise of seeing everything later instead of checking each shot on a screen.
We shoot film too, so we treat every roll the way we'd want ours treated.
Same-day turnaround
You have already waited to finish the camera. You should not have to wait another few weeks for the photos.
Color disposables that reach us before 1PM Pacific are developed and scanned that day. If you are mailing yours from out of state, our Southern California lab is usually two to five days away by post.
Max scans and full border scans take an extra day. Black and white film are ready in five business days.
Pricing
A color disposable costs the same as one roll of 35mm color film.

Send us the whole camera
You don't need to open the camera or wind anything back. Opening it yourself can expose the film to light. Mail or bring in the disposable exactly as it is, and we'll handle the rest.
- We develop the film and scan every frame.
- Standard scans are 3000 x 2000 pixels, plenty for sharing, with clean prints up to 18"x12".
- Max-resolution scans are 6774 x 4492 pixels, enough for prints up to 36"x24" and for cropping in without falling apart.
- We scan on both Noritsu HS-1800 and Fuji Frontier scanners. Noritsu leans neutral and natural; Frontier leans punchy and contrasty. Tell us if you have a preference. Either way, you get the free expert color adjustments.
- We email your photos as a download link as soon as they're ready.
- Upon request, we return your negatives, the original and highest-quality version of your photos.
What our customers say

Erin Marie D
I am always impressed with how quickly and beautifully my disposable camera pictures turn out. I don't go to anyone else!

I've only ever used Legacy Film Lab to place an online order for developing my disposable camera film but love the services they have and how quick they ship/develop my film. I used to use Walgreens to develop my disposable camera film but the quality was never as good as Legacy Film Lab! I also appreciate they send over the original negatives as well.

I’ve been coming here for a while now to get all my film developed, and I would never choose anywhere else. Legacy Film Lab brings my film to life and does such a great job every time. Highly recommend for anyone with film cameras or want disposables developed. Friends ask me all the time where I go, and I always recommend this place too.

Disposable camera questions
How much does it cost to develop a disposable camera?
At our lab, a color disposable is $17.99 with developing and standard scans, or $27.99 with max-resolution scans. Black and white disposables are $19.99, or $29.99 with max-resolution scans. Archival 4x6 prints of every frame are $9.79 more. Custom color adjustments are free.
How many pictures are in a disposable camera?
Most disposable cameras have 27 exposures, although some models have 24, 36, or 39. An exposure is one photo on the roll. Once you've taken the last one, send in the camera and we'll develop it.
Do I need to take the film out first?
No. Send the whole camera without opening it, and we'll unload and develop the film for you. Opening the camera yourself could expose your photos to light.
What if I haven't finished the camera?
Send it anyway. We can develop a partly used camera. The unused frames come back blank, so most people wait until the counter hits zero. If the event is over and you want the photos now, you don't need to take extra shots just to finish the roll.
Do you develop Kodak and Fujifilm disposable cameras?
Yes. We develop Kodak FunSaver, Fujifilm QuickSnap, waterproof and underwater models, and black and white disposable cameras such as Ilford. If you're unsure about yours, ask us.
How long does it take?
Color cameras are ready the same day when they reach us before 1PM Pacific, Monday through Friday. Black and white film takes about five business days. If you mail your camera, allow another two to five days for it to reach us.
Will I get digital photos?
Yes. We scan every frame and email you a WeTransfer download link (lasts 60 days) so you can save and share the photos. We also return your negatives upon request.
Do I get the camera back?
Your negatives come back to you. The camera body itself can't be reused, so we recycle it.
What if some of my photos are blank?
Underexposed or blank frames are common on disposables, especially indoors without flash. We scan every frame that has an image on it. If a roll comes out entirely blank, we refund the scan and the print charges.
Can you develop an old or expired disposable camera?
Yes. The results depend on the camera's age and how it was stored, but we'll get as much as we can from every frame. We can also scan damaged film manually when needed.
New to film? Read our guide to using a disposable camera, then send it our way when you're finished.
